| for our second season in a row, it seems that nd's fate is in the hands of a game with ek. we are well out of the running to win at this stage, looks like ek are gonna cruise to first place, but our next few games are vital in deciding our place in div2b.
we were supposed to play them last night, but surprise surprise, our fucking connects went through the roof. 48 ping solid to bw with these big yellow and red pl spikes every couple of seconds : normally, we have a backup plan, i.e. if my office is fucked, we'll see how many we can play out of jay's office, but last night both were gone. ol and koopa are on isdn, 100+ ping in fights as any fh will tell you it's brutal. ser is the only one last night who actually didn't have a problem playing.
we got a postponement anyway, took a bit of persuading the ek lads that we were actually on fucked pings, all they could see was our 48 pings that looked dead on. just as well it was against ek and not another team, we praccy with ek all the time, they are sound blokes, one or two of them had a few things to say about it which was disappointing, as we usually get on well with them, and we'd have no reason not to play them. it's all the one to us if they beat the shit out of us now, or if they do it next week. why would we postpone if our connections were on. jesus we were so set for the game last night it wasn't right, been playing loads of dm6 and cpm4 etc. i mean, they were perfectly within their rights to throw down the gauntlet at 7:55 when the game is sposed to be on at 8. we should have gone to them earlier, but we only know straight before a game if we are fucked or not.
they gave out a bit about it which was to be expected since they turned up n all, we dont mind that, i would get a bit thick if a team said to me 5 mins before a game that the connect was fucked, when it looked normal on a server. what kinda annoyed me was that they thought we were trying to pull something on them or something, i dunno, they didn't believe a word we said, puzzles the hell out of me, i mean they are a way better team than nd, we pull maybe 1 in 4 levels off them at best, and we play with them all the time, they are what koopa would all "our cyber-n8s", i dunno why they thought we were lying about it. it's all the one to us when we play them, we would just rather be able to play our first team on a decent connection and make some effort to pull a map off them rather than the turkey shoot it would have been last night. i forget sometimes that ppl dont realise that we (jay, zero, bunny) travel to an office to play, and spend ages setting up pcs, every wednesday night, and sometimes on a tuesday for praccy. we must be the most devoted idiots in the fuckin league, considering the 2 or 3 odd hours of tdm we get each week.
but fair play to them anyway for giving the pp, not many other teams would have at that time of night.
when this fucking country gonna get some adsl til we compete properly??
