| Yeah, the textures look like crap.
Thing is, Tenebrae supports 24-bit highres textures! It just happens that the "override" bumpmap/glossmap textures the author provides are minimal conversions of the old 8-bit textures.
With 24-bit textures, Tenebrae should be *amazing*
I've tried it with the dm2/dm4 textures. They work, but there is no bumpmapping and Quark won't let me resave the map with some lights turned on as per Tenebrae's instructions.
I have a demo map and files at http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/atd7/testmap.zip - Put the map into your Tenebrae/maps dir and the tgas in the Tenebrae/override dir.
The floor texture is cheesy but it IS high-res 24-bit, and shows off the capabilities of the engine much better than the author's crap textures.
I'll be updating that file tonight - I have a demo that includes moving colored lights that cast funky shadows.
