another lovely year passes and were going from strength to strength.  more changes
to the web site occurred this year with a completely re-written site in early 2003. i
  would like to think the re-write has made the site even more successful but in
reality, its you members of the laning community that has really made an impact.

top lan attendee's : now this has been an interesting one to watch.
  last years champions were strat
and ppc have been de-throned by
the energetic bluewing who went
to a total of 29 lans.. in less than a year.  hats off to you travis!  and strat, coming from a 7 lans from
last year have leaped to 27 lans attended.  similarly, marclar
shooting up to 23 lans.  shocking stuff!  have you guys no lives at all ?

now, a little controversy at this point.  some of the attendees (and i'm not saying
who) signed up for lans and didn't go.. just to get their names up higher on the listings.
  now, for the benefit of lan owners, i will be putting in a facility to allow lan
creators 'sin bin' people who didn't go and can be banned from the next lan or banned
indefinitely.

top viewed lans : shocking the amounts of hits! add each of those lan's together, thats a whole lotta people refreshing.. i'll say no more..

top lan creators : this award, in my own honest opionon, is the most important.
  without you lan creators and fellow organisers, we would not have such an active
community.   i think we owe a big pat on the back and a round of applause to you
guys.  we also not forgetting the unsung heros here : the people who help the
organisers setup the servers, setup the desks, chairs, etc, feed the animals, solve
network issues, clear up when weve all fecked off.. you know who you are and also, without
you guys, things just wouldn't get done.  we should have a lan organsers pissup soon

i have tried by my best to answer emails quickly, i would like to think that your input
has not gone ignored and that i put in those features you wanted, is there more you want
in?  if so, let me know and we'll get cracking on them.  overall, i think we
have doubled the numbers of people who have registered on the site, from 450+ to just
under a 1000 members.  our little community is definately expanding based on the
number of lans that have been created.  if you take into account that at the end of
2002 there was nearly 30 lans.  in 2003, we had 65 lans!  like.. hello? theres only 52 weeks in a year! thats some increase in
our likkle community
