athlone lan (september)

overall duration: 30 hours
date starting: 24.09.04
first day: 24th 4pm --- 25th 7am
second day: 25th 4pm --- 26th 7am

places available: 20
entry fee will cover both days!

competition and prizes (more info on web site):

we have lined up a competition including far cry, call of duty and unreal tournament 2k4. the first prize is a sapphaire ati radeon 9800 pro 128mb 256bit !! for second and third there will be nice prizes too and something for the bottom feeder of course.
there will be a case modding contest and a big mario kart challenge too.



games played:
we will be providing most patches and mods at the event, however it is recommended to have games up to date before coming in, because it saves a lot of time.

The LAN will be held in the house we rented. The house is near the town centre and not far away form the trainstation. There will be 2 big rooms (just a hall way in between), great for Team based games! in each room i will provide a 24port 100mbit switch and a 24port 10mbit HUB. (the HUBs are for internet only)

Also we will have a 1Mbit up- and downstream wireless broadband connection.

I'm not actually sure of the address. Its beside the entrance of the marist college. Will post details of the address shortly. Its a 10 min walk from the train/bus stations (that estimate does not include time taken to lug a monitor and case up. Its not far from the center of athlone.

either im blind or gone mad (or maybe both), but I cant find the address to this LAN anywhere ? Where is it on? and don't say Athlone.. whats the full address ?

as i said above the address will be included in reservation email, also in the LAN details it clearly sais "Athlone LAN". But here it is anyway:
Glencourt, Retreat road, Athlone co. Westmeath.

This is a LAN hosted in the midlands, its not gonna be in dublin or galway. nothin wrong with athlone...

The LAN is going ahead as planned starting friday at 4pm. I have 17 people confirmed and 9 people already payed. Here is the address again just in case u can't find the venue. Glencourt, Retreat Road, Athlone co Westmeath. Its the yellow house right beside the marist secondary school. Gonna be great crack! pyrogenx

I just posted loads info's and picture's on our web site. Also a picture of the winnerz of the competition, angelofdeath was kickin a** in UT2k4. And DareDevil won the moddin contest, the other guys hadn't a chance. For the next Midlan i will rent a nice'n big room in a hotel here in Athlone. So the next time we can fit many more players Keep checkin our Site, cause i'll be deciding about date and venue for the next LAN soonish. (in the week or 2) Also a great thanx to all attendees, it was good crack! pyrogenx
