for some time now, the staff here at room101 have been working on running a large LAN for the room101 community as a whole. A good number of the LAN organisers are already aware of this and are currently helping the R101 team in getting things organised. We are aiming to run it at the end of Feburary 06. Exact dates are not solid, nor is the venue just yet.
The idea behind the room101 LANs is so all the attendees from the various other LANs can get together and have a major LAN party. This will only really work if all the gamers from the different LAN communities get themselves involved in what could be Irelands Largest Community LAN. (as opposed to an individual LAN entity).
Allready we have a large number of major sponsors interested, with some amazing prizes. Some sponsors are aiming to be the biggest sponsor of what is going to be the biggest, smoothest, most professional ran LAN this country has ever seen. The people involved have a huge experience in running LANs from the small LANs to large complex LANs. The equiptment, cabling, power, servers and LAN features that will be present at the LAN will be of the highest standard. The competitons will be ran smoothly and professionally with some excellent prizes on offer. All you lot have to do, is get yourself involved.
I cant offer much more information about this at the moment other than try and answer a few questions. As a LAN organiser, you should get yourself involved as soon as possible so we can make this go!
