| i am organising a small house lan in waterford. currently there is room for at most 15 computers. there are around 3 "in house" pc's available for use for people who cannot bring their own. these have a mid - range spec (high end durons with around 128 - 256 of ram).
you need to bring:
pc unit monitor
cabling
perhiperals (keyboard, mouse etc)
10/100 nic network card
what we provide:
power outlet
network cabling
spot on a switch
there will also be 512k dsl internet access. use of this is subject to a 'no raping' guideline. nobody is to use kazaa/other download utilities. irc and general browsing is fine. upon entering, you will be assigned a manual ip address. please, stick with this for the night. it's fairly time consuming trying to track down an ip conflict on your network. remember to bring your games with you for the lan.
the games we will probably playing will be (in no particular order)
counter strike
battlefield 1942
quake 3
unreal tournament 2003
command and conquer generals
plus whatever other games people wish to play
the lan will start at 2pm in the afternoon of tuesday the 5th of august, and finish around 2pm the next day. sign up :^)
