friday 26th to sunday 28th march
9am to 11pm each day
everyone must download, print out and fill in this form
under 18s must have it co-signed by a parent/legal guardian

we'll have the use of 1 if not 2 data projectors at this lan, so if you've got a console with the appropriate cables (rca audio and composite/s-video) bring it along

will be running a cs knockout, qw/q3 duels and prehaps ca, maybe battlefield
hopefully prizes, if bog smiles on me
games:
quakeworld v0.3 (build 4xx)
quake3 - osp, cma, cpma pointrelease v1.32+
ut / unreal tournament 2003
battlefield 1942 v1.6 + dc 0.7g
operation flashpoint + resistance v1.91+
need for speed: undergroud
gta3:mta
ballistics
battlefield:vietnam if people have it
system shock2 if p[eople want to give it a bash
xiii
jedi knight academy
mariokart zsnes + .rom
avp(old but fast 'n fun) patch1+
warcraft3 v1.05+
vietcong v1.01+
command&conquer generals: zero hour v1.05+
mechwarrior4 mercenaries pointrelease1+
counterstikre
natural selection:combat
anything else if you can find someone else to play with you (il-2 sturmovik? )

requirements:

  • your box and everything needed to game
  • 10/100mbit network card
  • a decent length of network cable (cat5 or cat5e) if you want, we have cable ourselves but not loads
  • 4-way gang adapter/power strip and whatever extension cables you can lay your hands on.
  • headphones (no speakers!).
  • money for food, drink, accomodation etc.
  • your signed waiver - no admission without one
  • a cd/dvd burner and blank cdrs are advisable
  • melee weapon of choice (eg: batleth, frying pan, hampster etc.)
  • drivers/games/apps discs, os + cdkeys just in case you need to reformat on the day.
  • anti-virus software fully updated. i recommend avg free edition from grisoft.comno lan access without some.
  • an ftp daemon (server). this is because there will be no windows shares allowed.cuts down on traffic due to little or no smb packets on the network, is more flexibleand removes a vector for worms/virusii.
the one i've linked to is freeware, can be run as a service and is just plain great.another one is servu, which some of you may have already. either way i can sort you out on the day.

more to follow.

pub:if you're coming to the pub after the lan each night, mark yourself down for the "rental pc" option.
i'll look into booking us a few tables in the back of massimo's
this does not mean you've booked a rental pc (as there are none )

find us on quakenet at #galwaylan

normally Komplett are very good in terms of delivery, but the appear to be lacking of late, Ajnag was waiting for a long time for his kit, and afaik Elexes is still waiting for some parts, you might get them if you're lucky, but considering the lan's on tommorrow, tis doubtful :/
