| here it is, dundalk lan 4.
it'll be a 13 hour lan from 11am - 12am saturday 28th of feburary in the fairways hotel. we have 30 places available for the event so get in quick!!
the cost is just €10 per person and of course it is a byoc event.
we will have 2 x 10/100mb 24 port switches(one courtesy of chris murphy).
games:
counterstrike 1.6 offline version 7 (update available on the day)
generals zero hour version 1.0
age of mythology - titans version 1.02
warcraft iii(version to be confirmed)
halo (make sure it has the most recent update)
quake 3 arena - pointrelease v1.32
need for speed underground version 1.1001.0
call of duty version 1.2

the sessions
first: quake 3 arena & unreal 2k3 (2 hours)
second: zero hour & aom & warcraft iii(4 hours)
third: call of duty (2 hours)
fourth: break for food or misc games (1 hour)
fifth: counter-strike 1.6 (3 hours)
sixth: halo & need for speed underground (1 hour)
if there is another game propose it to me before the event and i will see what the demand is like for it.
requirements:
a decent pc of course using either windows 2k or xp.
network cable of decent length, like this is a big room so at least 5 metres.(cat 5 or better).
power entension leed (plz bring as many with you as possible).
headphones(no speakers!)
money for food and drink.

note: even if the lan is full please join the waiting list anyway and indicate in a comment if you are definate or not because there is always the chance that some of our maybes will not turn up. you will be notified a few days before the event if you can come along or not.
- i ask that everyone who signs up indicate if they are definate or not and that they ensure their systems are viri free and that their hardware is in working order. also please indicate which games you intend to play. set up should take 30 minutes tops!! you will be emailed your ip address a few days before the event.
we have now got sponsorship from the dkit college which means these lans will now become a regular event here in dundalk, probably bi-monthly. unfortunately there will still be a fee, €10 for this event(which lets be honest is very cheap). all proceeds will go towards purchasing a society owned dedicated server and since the switch belongs to tyax after that a society owned switch aswell.
