  • 4-way gang adapter/power strip and whatever extension cables you can lay your hands on.
  • headphones (no speakers!).
  • money for food, drink, accomodation etc.
  • your signed waiver - no admission without one
  • melee weapon of choice (eg: batleth, frying pan, hypnotoad etc.)
  • drivers/games/apps discs, os + cdkeys just in case you need to reformat on the day.
  • anti-virus software fully updated. i recommend avg free edition from grisoft.comno lan access without some. i will make avg free edition installer and updates available on the ftp server.
  • an ftp daemon (server). this is because there will be no windows shares allowed.cuts down on traffic due to little or no smb packets on the network, is more flexibleand removes a vector for worms/virusii.
the one i've linked to is freeware, can be run as a service and is just plain great.another one is filezilla server which is opensource and easy to configure.

Wow, ye guys seem like experienced gamers judging by all the classics ye've been mentioning recently. Any of ye remember games like Alleycat, Gammon-4, jailbird or digger. Back in the days of 5.25(actually floppy) floppy discs!! Or games like secret agent and crystal caves.

By "Classic" i mean-- in the days of 2-bit sound, not even a speaker just the little beep that comes off your mobo- i mean graphics that consist of 256 colours, if your lucky- i mean no windows no 3.5inch floppy no 'click start menu for assistance'- choose life.....Sorry, i got a little carried away!! If you go to www.dosgames.com you can experience the joys of 'classic gaming'.

Well stuff me in a truck and traffic me across Europe, the Lan's full. 'Course, there's always a few dropouts and I may well be able to fit a few more in... Anyone care to bring a 24-port 100Mbit switch?

There's generally always a few drops outs, so yeah, if it's convenient for you show up on the day and see. There are a few people who won't be coming down till saturday.

Unfortunately my m8 Pack3t3rroR has been unable to secure any time off so you can count him out. In other words for thoses on waiting list there is a spare place. Myself and Bastidus Madimus are still going(Unless something disasterous occurs in the next few days)
