We've done a bit of thinking about ath over here in Galway, and from what we can make out, the average Irish residence can accomoate about 40KW, 40machines with 350watt psu (ony some of which is actually being used unless you've got a 10disc scsi raid array tucked inside) + ~100Watt for the monitor (17") ~= 14kW.
Most venues should be able to take this as long as ye put a bit of thought into the layout of the power strips.
You don't want people daisy chaining. Not only is it highly dangerous (if enough ampage goes through the cable it'll melt. I shit you not) it'll also disrupt lan play either through someone getting electrocuted, a fuse blowing or someone having to take their power strip cos they're going home.
Kharn and his brother brought along their own UPS to GL4. It came in handy.
I'd nearly consider getting one myself.

Hamburgers and hotdogs, 40 crates of beer, lots of smoke.. 'twas a brilliant LAN. Started on a friday.. didnt end till the Wednesday! Bah, Chain those damn power strips i say

Dunno, I dont think the teams were the prob with bf1942, or at least not the whole prob. It was just way way way tooo competetive. There was no fun in it. I was too busy fucking about after flags and racing from one to the other to enjoy it. I was just way too stretched due to the lack of players on each team. Only playing one other team as well was rubbish, The way the scoring was worked out was awful as well . It should have just been whatever team won the round, won the round, not whatever team had the highest aggregate flags....It was a really out there form of scoring. Quite a few people thought so too, Shadow, Lunatic, Pyro, Dekken (I think) and that other bloke. Also the teams were just way too small.... There should have maybe been only 2 or three, with 10 - 15 players each, as BF1942 only really gets fun when theres more than 10 on each team. Also the game was designed to be played with this number in mind. Then maybe we should have just swapped teams up every hour or something. Still, Blue Wing did his best, and he organised the bf1942 comp on his own. Even if he did nailed by a bazooka shot from maybe 500 yds away. did i mention i thought the scoring system was waacked??? seriously though, at least the bf1942 was organised, and despite grumblings, I enjoyed it very much it was really good. rogue

Interesting response, in future it will be WAY better, and your ideas are mostly great. They will be that way in the future. You should signup for deathcon2, It will be more DC 25 players - Temple bar! Also that seemed like a long comment, perhaps post it as a review for legacylan, the more reviews the better
