Just noticed that there are people signed up for this lan AND cybermart lan which takes place at the same date. There are people on the waiting list for both lans. Go figure.

well maybe they know that they want to go to one of the LAN's,and that they might not get onto a particular one of em. also i hear rumors that the waterford trio are going to both of them, is this true?

wouldnt it be better if seats ,1-4, 61-70. were placed so they'd be back-to-back with the next row, rather than have them both facing the same way. Less screen poachyness that way..and you can just turn around if you want to smack the person behind you across the head.

great lan richard. Fair play to you, Paul (ronin), Dave (legion) and all the lads that helped out both in setting it up and both cleaning up afterwards.

I had a great laugh at it. I didn't get to say hi to lots of ppl, mainly because I was being a lazy bast*rd and sat leeching or playing mostly.

One thing, DC++ did kill the lan greatly either that or the switches were a little b0rked. It shouldnt be used eitherway. Now, thinking of that, Im going to write an alternative proggie which lets people add their ftp details to a webby at a lan and people can view/look/use them if they like. Ftp is soo much better anyway.

Anyway, excellent LAN. Whens the next one ?

another thing. It was disappointing to see people who signed up for it, not go. I think those people are need to get a kick 'n da head for that. If your not going to go, have the decency to remove yourself from the LAN.

I thought about putting in a ranking/rating/karma system so that LAN organisers can rate people. If you are a helpfull person, then you get + (plus) score, if you decide not to go to the LAN for example, they can give you a - (minus) score.

This gives an idea of how reliable you are to LAN organisers, etc. or if you get such a bad score, one might even get their account disabled.. I dunno. Its just an idea, what do you think?

Sounds like a good idea MP,also would be a good idea for the bigger lan set-ups to look into the idea pre paying. But we were more than happy with the turn out on the day.

Is there not a rule whereby after a set date before the lan you must have paid by to secure your place, and if you have paid before that, you cannot pull out/get your money back after that said date?

i think thats down to whoever runs the LAN tbh. Tho, like legion said, I may have to introduce a payment method to make thinks easier for lan organisers, however, that introduces money onto the site, which means lan organisers would have to pay for this facility, etc.. it requires more thinkage.
