friday 23rd to sunday 25th january
9am to 11pm each day
everyone must download, print out and fill in this form
under 18s must have it co-signed by a parent/legal guardian

we'll have the use of 1 if not 2 data projectors at this lan, so if you've got a console with the appropriate cables (rca audio and composite/s-video) bring it along

will be running a cs knockout, qw/q3 duels and prehaps ca, maybe battlefield
hopefully prizes, if people pay in on time
games:
quakeworld v0.3 (build 4xx)
quake3 - osp pointrelease v1.32+
unreal tournament 2003 v2225+
battlefield 1942 v1.5 + dc 0.6f
operation flashpoint + resistance v1.91+
mohaa + spearhead v2.15+
xiii
jedi knight academy
mariokart zsnes + .rom
avp(old but fast 'n fun) patch1+ // avp2 v1.0.9.5+
warcraft3 v1.05+
vietcong v1.01+
command&conquer generals v1.05+
mechwarrior4 mercenaries pointrelease1+
gaggle of halflife mods including that one with the guns in it. 1.1.1.1.1.1.1.0+
anything else if you can find someone else to play with you (il-2 sturmovik? )

requirements:

  • your box and everything needed to game
  • 10/100mbit network card
  • a decent length of network cable (cat5 or cat5e) if you want, we have cable ourselves but not loads
  • 4-way gang adapter/power strip and whatever extension cables you can lay your hands on.
  • headphones (no speakers!).
  • money for food, drink, accomodation etc.
  • your signed waiver - no admission without one
  • a cd/dvd burner and blank cdrs are advisable
  • melee weapon of choice (eg: batleth, frying pan, hampster etc.)
  • drivers/games/apps discs, os + cdkeys just in case you need to reformat on the day.
  • anti-virus software fully updated. i recommend avg free edition from grisoft.comno lan access without some.
  • an ftp daemon (server). this is because there will be no windows shares allowed.cuts down on traffic due to little or no smb packets on the network, is more flexibleand removes a vector for worms/virusii.
the one i've linked to is freeware, can be run as a service and is just plain great.another one is servu, which some of you may have already. either way i can sort you out on the day.

there will be no frivolous leeching during the day.
people are expected to have their shares setup as soon as possible.
ye can browse around and queue up files for download (leechftp or filezilla are great clients).
then as we leave at night, eveyone can start their queues downloading and it'll all be there waiting in the morning.
this method is neccessary because leeching can put quite a load on somemachines' cpus if they're being hammered constantly by multiple clients/threadswhile in a game and is unfair.

anyone caught leeching without the machine owner's permission will be corn-holed by asok / sodomised by the shotgun-toting number6

more to follow.

Drake has said that he will bring pro-evolution soccer 3 and maybe nfs:u for the ps2, tho the latter one is kinda pointless as both I and mistakill have the better port on the pc

Robbo says' it's a bit pants on the PS2, you have to do a load of Millenium Falcon mods to it and play for ages before you can actually start modding the engine etc. And the handling of the cars are all the same. Stil, it'll be fun for a run about.

I was agreeing with you. As in there's no real need for Drake to bring his copy, unless he wants to. Though the LAN patch raises questions of stability and whether everyone will be able to play flawlessly. I also have the game on PC, just haven't brought it home yet.

Me and a few mates may head down, but first, we're going down on friday, and leaving Saturday. Do we have to pay full price?
