BioHazRd Richard Smith I stole Mindphucks Donkey posts : 209 lans : 18 site administrator the darkside series returns : saturday 17th to sunday 18th april 10am to 10am for 24 hours of pain we will be running some small competitions this time, so the emphasis will be on having fun games: (but not limited to) quake iii osp though maybe not as much as usual ut2k4 hopefully it should be released by then painkiller again, should be released in time for the lan battlefield 1942 command&conquer generals call of duty etc. etc. etc. all requirements and questions about the darkside series are covered in the faq here again, there will be no leeching allowed during the lan. this means open shares and or ftp servers. the only ftp allowed will be the official dakside ftp which will have all the latest patches and fixes amongst other things as usual, we will be hosting an irc server, and the intranet will also be put to good use we hope to have the projector and a huge screen, and possibly some consoles too. cost :- €30, payable at the door if you need to chat with any of the organisers, you can get us on irc : irc.quakenet.org #darkside.ie lan dates : 17/04/2004 to 18/04/2004 24 hour lan lan address : Panama Scout Hall Phibsboro Dublin 7 cost details : This is a BYOPC event €30 per PC alcholol? : no net connect? : no age limit : none attending : 80 of 74

We will have an internet connection at the LAN, kindly supplied by IrishBroadBand (http://www.irishbroadband.ie). This will be available to all attendees. However there are some rules for its use. It will only be for basic web browsing / IRC / mail checking. If you want to play a certain game online, come talk to an admin (we are on the stage) and we will discuss the issue with you. NO LEECHING or PORN is to be accessed via the internet connection. We will be monitoring all activity and anyone in breach of this will be black-holed (lose their internal network connection). This may be restored by an admin, but only after a discussion with the guilty party. I stress MAY be restored - but there will be a minimum disconnect time of 1 hour. The usual rules about Leeching and porn apply to this LAN as it did to previous Darkside events. We will be running some competitions throughout the day, and complete details and signups will be on the intranet. Competition Details: PC competitions UT2K4 4v4 Onslaught Winning team gets an MSI DVD burner each courtesy of Komplett Battlefield Vietnam 8v8 Winning team gets a pc game pack each COD 4v4 Headquarters Winning team gets a pc game pack each Xbox competitions PGR2 - Alienware Tshirt, and Xbox game pack DOA3 - Xbox game pack Crimson Skies - Alienware Tshirt and Xbox game pack We have some other prizes to give out, and the criteria for these will be decided on the day. Again, if you are on the attendance list, and cant make it to the LAN, please remove yourself as soon as possible, as there are quite a few people on the waiting list as it stands. The event is €30 euro per pc, and this is payable at the door on arrival - not after you have set up. This makes it easier for us to make sure you are initially set up with the greatest ease, and also the chance to rectify any problems you may encounter. See you all at the LAN BioHazRd

How about a little BF Vietnam ... get all who enter and split into smoking and non smoking teams.... if the smokers loose they're not allowed smoke any more @ darkside and if the non smokers loose then you smokers can smoke your brains out.... well how about it ladies??? think you could manage a win in between the coughing up of your lungs???
