Come one, come all the the UL Computer Society and UL Games Society LAN, being held in the University of Limerick on the 10th of December. This will be a 50 person max. LAN with official tournaments in BF2, DOW, COD and CS:S. Sonspors include Dominos and Gamespot and prizes will be offered for competitions.

Directions:
----------
From Dublin - Approaching from the Dublin side follow the dublin road to the National Technology park and look out for the signs for UL (you cant miss them). In UL drive in the East Gate (should be the first turn in - youll know it since there wont be any flagpoles) and follow the road until you see a large carpark on your left and stone work buildings on your right. Park and follow the signs. If you come in the flagpoles entrance then 2nd exit (straight) at the first roundabout and park in the car park you find on your right. Again folllow the signs. Requirements:
--------------
• Your Computer and everything needed to play network games
• 4-way gang adapter/power strip
• 10/100 Network card
• Headphones
• Money for food, drink
• Drivers + Games + Apps cds, OS and Antivirus (UP TO DATE!!!)
• Transportation.

Dominos has kindly agreed to give 25% off orders for the LAN. Chat to the admins to find out more.
The location for the LAN allows no eating or drinking. However a canteen is one floor below us and has vending machines and plenty of tables for use for whatever you want.

EG010 was 50+ and the C059 is 33

I really do have to ask though who and odd number? usually fit 2 PCs to a table
2.5 foot minimum rule per person


A0E3 because it is starwars

AOE and AoE2 were not very good tbh

I really wanted to go to this one and i was really lookiung forward to it but im just after finding out that instead of my mate celebrating his 18th in the pub the friday nite before hand that we are going paintballing saturday so i wont be able to make this one, hope whoever takes my place will enjoy the lan as much as i would have.......... Burner, u wouldnt have enjoyed the lan. Remember u sux Looks like an interesting lan to go to. Plenty of interest. Id go only for final year. Ah next year, Ill have my own helicopter and will go to all the lans easily...

i might not be avble to go because my gfx card died last week after only 5 weeks. if anyone has any form of a pci or pci express card sparethat they wouldnt mind loaning me for the lan i would eternally worship them.

Right more updates,

We have a new room so were setting a 55 person cap. Its a decent lab with plenty of power and network points so were good to go. Well be providing the switches.

With regard the games, the official toruney games are as stated above. Outside of that well give a shout out if people want another game played.

Oh ye and will u tell falcon that his joystick is in the su or something and that he has to contact the interlan organisers...

Bad news guys. I cant make this event...my transportation is tied up next weekend moving house so I cant go and neither can Pyrogenx.

My map (http://www.skynet.ie/~zilog/directions/map2.jpeg) is now pointing to the right place ^_^

Its the B2-005 "Datacomms Lab" - theres a door on both two sides of the place so hopefully youll find at least one of the doors. The closest entrance is the Thomas McLoughlin stairwell (behind The Stables) - theres a lift there too - dunno if itll be open though, but the Charles Bianconi stairwell (behind the Students Union) is nearly just as close, and that will be open. You should be able get your car by that entrance - youll have to go past a gate thing but they usually open automatically. Theres a car park just next to the Students Union/the Scholars pub that AFAIK is free for use on weekends.

wouldnt we we entering the main building through the main door.
just it would make a look more sence to show us where it is...

No, for the following reasons (I guess)
1. The main door isnt near any parking so thats a lot of carrying just to reach the main door.
2. The main door is a good bit away from the Lab
3. Chances are people will get lost trying to get there via the main door, or got lost finding the main door
