Lads who are on the waiting list : Would you just shut up and wait! thats whats the list is called, you wait for a opening in the a Attendance list. You are on the Waiting list as you were to slow to sign up to the lan, The Venue is booked out, there are 2 rooms that can hold 40-45 people, Syxpak made it very clear. He would put it higher, if he could, but its hard as he has to think of space and power. So just wait, the lan is a month away, there are always people that drop out before the lan. Just keep it cool, and wait, and if your still not on the list... pop down saterday and check if there is any room left, incase there were any no-shows.

For the first time EVAR, I'm going to consider running a lan about a month after a previous one, to make up for the one we missed out on in the usual April spot due to me having to sit my final exams. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF JEFF DON'T GO THINKING THIS IS A DONE THING ALREADY. I haven't talked to anyone but Asok about it, and that was just sleep-deprived mumblings. If it goes ahead, ye'll know, just keep an eye on the GalwayLAN forum on Boards.ie http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=428 Browse to that link. Keep an eye on Room101.org. Join the IRC channel. ALL THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN IN THE DETAILS OF THE LAST 6 OR SO LANS. This is hardly news. If you want to be kept up to date, make an effort. Please don't badger me about spaces. Myself and the other organisers do this for free and for fun. If people pester us it stops being fun. And putting in the work we do for free only to get trouble and strife back is not attractive. I have plans forming in my noodle for big things. Big things take time to organise if you want them to go off without any major hitches. If you ask any question that has already been answered in the LAN post details, you'll be lucky to get an answer, and even luckier to get an answer that doesn't bluntly compare you to an amoeba This goes for any LAN even posted on this or any other site. RTFM ppl.

Try and remember that there is about another month to go until this lan. I'm currently last on the list, but I'm willing to bet that by the time the lan happens there's a good chance that I'll either be on the attendance list or close enough that it will be worth my time to drop down and see if there are some no shows on the day. Expect to see about 5-10 people drop off the list with about a week to go to the lan. Additionally for those of you that make the attendance list, on the thursday before the lan could you make sure you let the organisers know if your going to be late attenting. Those of use from Galway on the waiting list will be contacting the organisers late friday, early saturday, and being the sound people they are if they haven't heard from people and they are not there by saturday (~12pm) they are likely to give the go ahead for people on the waiting list to join in.

Though there are indeed alot of people on the waiting list for this one, I've yet to notice a GalwayLAN where, an hour before starting time, there was anyone still on the waiting list... 'Sides, whining aint gonna do nothing, but piss off syx, and that's best left to the experts. REGULAR FORTNIGHTLY LANS WITH IRC SERVERS SAYS BEARD YAY WHO'S ORGANISING CS TOURNI THERE ARENT ENOUGH NUMBERS WILL J0() PLAY PAEK!?!

So whats the story on getting CSS playable at the lan, there are 1 or 2 ways it can be done but they involve some sort of net connection(which ye might have?!) It would be so much better playing source than the now dated cs1.6 (no disrespect to my fellow CS'ers),but which ever one is gona be played i shall be gunning for glory ....(evil laugh)

Why does my brain hurt after reading most of that? Firstly, Quetzal, The usher system is gonna be put in place as I am familiar with the power conditions in the venue. weither or not you think it works is fantastic, but really means sweet fuck all to me. as regards people on the waiting list, we cant have the 3rd room, it was booked well before we did. We got 2 rooms on those dates by sheer luck, someone who had one of the rooms pulled out. if there are any changes, we shall let yee know. As regards games, well, I have no problems running whatever the fuck yee like on Stewie, thats why I have it. It would be great help though if anyone has a spare 2.4Ghz Xeon knocking about.

Ok, to my understanding so far there will be; DesertCombat/BF:Vietnam Quake3 CS (1.6 / Cs:s??) Warcraft3 (which one? RoC/tFT) Dawn of War Call of Duty: blehhh Battlefield 2... I have yet to get BF2 and DoW... aswell as Desert Combat Final, Quake 3, CS 1.6... I am pooed. All I have is Warcraft III: the Frozen Throne, the Half-Life Generations pack (not updated [or installed atm]), Call of Duty: UO (not updated), Half-Life 2 (cant play anything because steam is gay and it doesnt let me play them without updating for hours which I don't have on the net -> 56k), Homeworld (hehe!), Freelancer (dont kill me), Rome: Total War... I'll prolly bring the PS2 and PSone... maybe my old Sega Mega Drive 2 > if anyone has a proper adapter for it... and a lead to the tv.. so maybe not :/ ... I have a few games for the ps2, Currently i have only one controller though, I don't use it enough to be bothered. I have a few more psx games though... maybe we could try finish FFVII, VIII, and X in three days lol
