the tournament – hosted on the xbox live service from 19 april to 10 may, 2004 - will pit the best online racing gamers in a competition project gotham racing 2.
the three fastest european gamers will receive an all-expenses paid trip to charlotte, usa, during nascar’s highly anticipated speed week, which takes place from 27th - 31st of may. while they are there they will be given the opportunity to compete in the finals. the grand prize for the gamer that comes out on top of the online racing world champion tournament in charlotte in may is €4,000, plus a year’s subscription to xbox live.
all you need to do to take part is to play project gotham racing 2 on the xbox live service from 12.00hrs (midday bst/ 1.00pm cet) on 19 april to 12.00hrs (midday bst/1.00pm cet) on 10 may and record your best time on the ‘princes street east’ track in edinburgh.
to be eligible, gamers should be over 21, be opted in for communication with xbox live so that xbox live can contact them if they win and be in one of the ten participating european countries - denmark, finland, france, italy, ireland, norway, spain, sweden, switzerland and the uk.

this is the first lan in drogheda (like this), it will take place in drogheda's daniels cybercafe.
the cost is just e15.00
cs is up first!!

starts 7:30pm on friday the 9th of april and will end no later then 9:00am on saturday 10th.
this is not a bring you own computer event but you can bring your computer if you like.

return to castle wolfenstein: enemy territory
any other games will be played if they are suggested before the night.
what do you need?
you need money for food and drink, there are 3 takeaway less then 1 minute away. and there will be breaks.
if you are'nt bringing your computer, you can bring your own keyboard, mouse and headphones if you like.
**please note: you can come for just a few hours if you have work etc**

okay, here it is, dundalk lan 5.
it'll be a 12 hour lan from 10am - 10.30pm on thursday 22th of april in the fairways hotel. we have 30 places available for the event so get in quick!!
the cost is just €10 per person and of course it is a byoc event.
we will have 1 x 10/100mb 24 port switch & 1 x 10/100mb 16 port switch.

requirements:
a decent pc of course using either windows 2k or xp.
network cable of decent length, like this is a big room so at least 5 metres.(cat 5 or better).
power entension leed (plz bring as many with you as possible).
headphones(no speakers!)
money for food and drink.

note: even if the lan is full please join the waiting list anyway and indicate in a comment if you are definate or not because there is always the chance that some of our maybes will not turn up. you will be notified a few days before the event if you can come along or not.
- i ask that everyone who signs up indicate if they are definate or not and that they ensure their systems are viri free and that their hardware is in working order. also please indicate which games you intend to play. set up should take 30 minutes tops!! you will be emailed your ip address a few days before the event.
again we have sponsorship from the dkit for this event. unfortunately there will still be a fee, €10 for this event. all proceeds will go towards purchasing a society owned equipment i.e. switches, more ram.
a dedicated server will now be available for cs which means hltv and stats
also because it is a college sponsored event all attendees must be over 18.

normally i wouldnt allow or post things like lan updates here, but hey, it is my web site, so there you go 
from a starting point of a 40 person lan it has nearly doubled that and gone to 75 people.
this is amazing and beyond our expectations. we certainly didnt expect such a good
response. the list of attendees is impressive, having people coming all over ireland,
northern ireland, scotland, wales and england. theres even a couple of swedes coming!
all-in-all, its certainly a good start to a series of lans we hope to run over the next
couple of years.
preparations : we have our tables sorted, seating arranged, cabling
completed, servers prepared, games configured, switches configured and our intranet is
nearly done. i would think were pretty much on top of things. during next week we will be
visiting our food providers and obtaining that much sought after commoditty : beer! yes..
we will have a shit load of beer for everyone attending!! adding to that, we will have
lots of snack foods and plenty of food runs going on. as most people know from the
darkside lans, the location is excellent for food and you will have no problems getting
food, the problem is deciding which food you want! btw, of course you are welcome to bring
your own drink/food, etc.

will probably change, but to give you an idea of what your two days will look like, it

dates : just to clear up something. the lan dates are the 3rd and 4th of
april. starting at 10am on the saturday and finishing sunday morning. friday the 2nd is a
pissup night!! there wont be any lanning going on the friday, just a great big drinking
session - irish style! the location for the drinkies is the bigtree on dorset street, 8pm
till late. people travelling from afar should get in contact with myself, zero or one of
the other irish people going to make arrangements to meet them. i'll put up a
map/directions to the bigtree if people want.
monitors : we only have 4 monitors and they are all booked out now by
overlord, empy, ch and casc.
payment : you should expect to pay on your arrival. there will be a sign
up desk, where you will depart with your cash and sign up for the various competitions,
double check your seating arrangement and get stuck in for the best two days of quakeing
your ever going to have!

please let us know if you have any problems, queries, etc. if you are already

our man melachi, who qualified as the irish halo champion, competed in the world championships on tuesday. rick came in 8th place in the finals. i think that is a fantasic achievement and worth a big well done. the overall winner was a uk player called beast aka jonathan finglass.

ok, we talked about it for months, and now its happening - quakelan, a 24hour lan dedicated
to all the quakes, starts friday 2nd of april with a big boozeup and games from saturday
morning right through til sunday.
prize competitions include:
- qw duel
- q2 duel
- q3 duel
- quake3 ctf seeded comp (great fun, ask ppl from ds7)
- q3 2v2
uk -vs- ie :no we aren't taking the piss, we are currently in discussion with malc
(the stranger) and rooting out a sponsor to bring over the uk team 'til we see who's still
the boss since rapture '99. there are limited places for this lan, even the ni guys
may be down so you better sign up pretty lively, you dont want to miss this!! more details
