having had a bad time trying to order from gameplay, i checked razer's affiliates and they mention a danish place -- (which incidentally _only_ ships bs 1k,2k and 3m mouse mat -- nothing else!) dailyrush.dk. now, these guys ship to pretty much everywhere bar ireland, but upon my pleading, they responded: i don't think there should be a problem for us to ship to ireland.

another tournament ranking system is coming up. zarkof introduces ligarena, which is going to provide an international player and clan ranking system:
ligarena.com is a website dedicated to rating players and clans all around the world. in order to rate players and clans, each match from most of the tournaments in the world will affect their rating using a complex system partially based on elo.
in order to built world, european, american tops, arena.com will elaborate a balance system between all countries and continents. this will reduce the points to win by people in a very active country or continent, and increase the points to win by people in a very inactive country or continent.

our man vampiro (aka dre) has been a busy little bee of late. he sends word that there will be a clan arena lan which will
hopefully take place in the near future.
himself and jopasc have been
discussing this lan recently and have decided what numbers we can get for
it. the way the lan will take place will be first off in dublin with a
crowd from the uk coming over. this lan will hold competitions such as 1
on 1's 2 on 2's and mbar even a clan compo. two weeks after this lan takes
place the uk will have a lan over there and places will be provided for a group of us to play.
what the guys do need is numbers so if you might be interested in this just replay to this. remember nothing is certain yet as they are just estimating numbers. sounds like a really good idea.

bigfoot sent word that the first week of season 5 is to be delayed for a week. he hoped some of the issues would have been resolved in time for tomorrow nights games however it now appears
unlikely this will happen. the season will now commence on tuesday 27th /
wednesday 28th march.

in an interview with angel munoz for esports america, angel indicates that they will possibly drop q3 from the frag 5 event. this is seriously going to impact on the q3 scene and another big blow for us all.

about, the actual paddys day celebrations, which would normally occur all over ireland,
are really diminished due to cancellations by 'da government'. bah anyway!.

the cpl world championships have announced their main event to be counter-strike based instead of quake3 based. is the end of quake3 coming nearer and nearer ? with more and more of the top quake3 clans trying their hand at counterstrike we're probably about to see the start of a shift away from quake3.
"the cpl announced today that their banner event of 2001, the cpl world championships, will be a counter-strike tournament. the prize money for the event is $150,000."

i have set up the details for everyone who is participating in the cpl qualifiers for the cpl holland event. take the time to have a look at the rules and the general details of the qualifier. as yet, no details of prizes, but have a look anyway.

since team ps has now gone totaly inactiv, myself and beast needed a new team to join. had some good offer's from uk teams, but have decided to join team bio. they have a fully activ online team at moment (well nearly *cough* ecup3) so we shall help out with lan side of things.
how do you think this will effect the irish quake3 scene, if it will at all.

in clanbases eurocup, there was a few games last nite. notibly, neo v's bwl and bio v tulls.
the neo v bwl match went down to three games. bwl taking neo 96-49 on dm14, neo snatching dm7 with 108-91. it was a great comeback for bwl on dm6 who won 120-102. you can read more about it here
the bio game was a little mysterious as it turns out bio didnt show for their game and tulls got a forfeit. according to cb rules, a team can show up and play whats called their wildcard just before a game and have their match replayed at a later date. i briefly spoke to m1ke, leader of bio, who told me he turned up too late to play the wildcard. the official standing does look like a forfeit against bio, but it may get replayed just yet.

| there is a new 12 man qw 1v1 tourney taking place in north america. they have a webpage here. so far 12 people have been invited to participate:
division 1: chuga, def, fiend, fuman, skitter, xoque
division 2: czm, clown, bulldozer, jester, wang, yogic
zzjohnzz will be running the comp. as of late the quakeworld servers have been filling up and there are rumours that izno may be organising a big european qw competition, something along the veins of the famous tgi comp.

there's quite a few timer scripts floating around at the moment, but ureal has managed to put together an external timer which is supposedly better than the current ones. however, since its an exe, theres debate over whether its a cheat or not. you can grab the timer here.

i found a intresting report on how win2000 is for games. i know many of you use it, i myself much more prefer winme for games. i have always felt a fps drop in performance with win2k (even though many of you have told me otherwise).
overall, the general message is that windows 2000 is no longer a connoisseur of incompatibility, but a very viable alternative to windows 98 for users from all walks of life.
installing windows 2000 is a day’s work, but maintaining it requires only seconds. if you plan the upgrade beforehand, you should have no trouble, and the less hassle in the long run, the more games that can be played.
